Movement

Help promote positive body image by teaching students the joy of being active and to notice how their body feels physically and mentally.

Physical activity can decrease stress and anxiety, improve focus and readiness to learn, and promote good sleep habits. This supports mental health and well-being. Educators can teach students that physical activity can be a fun way to take care of their mind and body.

Educators should not promote movement as a way to lose or maintain weight or change body shape. Educators should not discuss body shape or size in front of students. In fact, weight loss should not be discussed with students.
