Green Thumb

There are many great reasons to do hands-on gardening activities at school.  One of the main benefits of any garden is the harvest of fresh, healthy plant foods.  It can also provide real or hands-on opportunities to learn about healthy eating, science, the environment and help students make meaningful links between class work and life skills.

Do you have a Green Thumb?  Want to share your skills and knowledge with our school? Let your child’s teacher or the office know if you’re interested in supporting a school gardening project.

For more ideas, tools and resources to support your school garden projects, check out the Green Thumb badge.  Grow together and earn a badge!
