Brand new school opened in 2015. Since the school was opened, the school community including students, parents and staff promote a healthy eating habits by running a snack program. A Healthy School committee was created in order to initiate and help to run the snack program. The program is funded by Food for Learning, Walmart ,York Region Public Health. The students enjoy the healthy snacks and the school community has started to improve the eating habits.

Success Story

We have few parents who prepare and few teachers who serve healthy snacks to students. Students are excited when it is snack day because they know the snack is going to be delicious. Through the snack program, students are exposed to a wide variety of fresh foods such as: fruits, veggies, dairy products,etc. Since the Healthy School committee started the snack program the school food culture improved significantly.
