Tips for Improving School Nutrition
Eating is very personal, and is affected by many things (e.g. family practices, beliefs, education, culture, economics, etc.) which we must be sensitive to when planning school nutrition initiatives.
Follow these tips to promote eating well at school in a sensitive manner.
- Steer the conversation from ‘preventing obesity’ to ‘promoting health’
- Keep all messages positive
- Take a ‘big picture’ approach that includes the eating experience as well as the food
